Vintage Mondays: Vera butterfly towels

I have a Vera obsession.  So much so that I can just look at a square inch of a pattern and know instantly whether it's Vera or not.  This comes in handy during estate sales where they fold and tie up all the linens in bundles or put them in clear bags so you can't go through them all.  It's a limited talent but a skill set nonetheless!

Vintage Monday: Vera towel

Another fun towel to add to my Vera collection.  I love the deep purples and the concentric circles!

Vintage Monday (errr Tuesday): Vera towels and potholders

Sorry for the late vintage goodies post but I had to wait till the mailman got here!

Adding to my Vera collection/obsession with these lovely towels and potholders.  This is probably one of my favorite patterns and I was so happy to snag these on ebay.  They are in perfect condition--some little old lady must have hid these away just for me!

By the way, a quick google search for Vera potholders lead me to Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's who are selling reissues of Vera patterns.  Interesting...

And I cannot WAIT for this book to come out!

Vintage Monday: Russell Wright and Vera

My love of Vera and Russell Wright combined in one post!

Snagged this gorgeous grey pitcher from Russell Wright's modern dinnerware collection and this lovely Vera linen tea towel at the City Wide Garage Sale last weekend.  I'm pretty sure I squeaked when I saw the pitcher, then had to send B in to bargain as I had lost all credibility.

Wishlist Wednesday: Vera Neumann

If you haven't guessed by now, I am a sucker for vintage linens and prints. One of my favorite vintage print designers is Vera Neumann. A little bit about her from the Vera blog: Vera is an American icon. She began a business at her kitchen table in 1946. By the 70's, she had built a $100 million business. Her products were sold around the world. All of her products (scarves, linens, apparel, etc.) started as an original piece of art from her own hand. Best known for her colorful silk scarves, Neumann produced an incredible amount of work in her lifetime (over 20,000 scarves and 7,000 pieces of original artwork)

I started collecting Vera linens a couple of years ago and am still going strong! That's why I was so excited to see this new book about Vera. It's in stores at Anthropologie right now and at the top of my wishlist!
