Vintage Monday: Fire king teardrop bowls

I cannot confirm or deny that I have an addiction to nesting bowls.  These Fire King ones are a particular favorite, not only because they are a gorgeous turquoise blue but also for the unique tear drop shape that makes for a handy spout.  I believe there are four bowls total to this set so I've got my eye out on acquiring the last one.  Until then, I am happy to enjoy these three lovelies.

  1. Oooh I never knew they existed but now I do, I want them!!! Looks like Nigella Lawson may have ripped off that design for her set!

  4. Thanks for the comment! I did more investigative research and it looks like these bowls are actually turquoise via jaditekate: http://jaditekate.blogspot.com/2009/10/turquoise-vs-delphite.html

  6. I saw them at an antique store, almost fainted at the price and then went stalking on ebay!

  7. Believe it or not, I just acquired a set of four (jadite color) of these yesterday while helping my family clean out my grandfather's house. Not knowing anything about these bowls, I absolutely fell in love with them the moment I opened up an old storage cabinet and found them. They appeared to have never been used nor could my father or uncle recall ever seeing them before. I'm tickled pink (or jadite) to have them.

  8. that's amazing!!! the jadite ones are even harder/pricier to come by! And what's better is you have a personal connection to them. Enjoy!
