Wishlist Wednesday: Petalware by W.S George

Do you believe in love at first sight?  I do...especially when it comes to vintage kitchenware.  I know I may seem fickle, as the lightening bolt has struck me multiple times, from colorful Fiestaware to whimsical snack plates, sturdy Fire King bowls and gorgeous Catherineholm (still looking for these by the way) and then there was the quirky Canoe Muffin obsession.  But this time...there is just something special about this collection of china.

The Petalware line, also known as Georgette, was produced in the 1940s by the W.S. George Pottery Company in Ohio.  The petals form a delicate scalloped edge to the bowls, cups and plates and its beauty is enhanced by the soft green, blue, rose, grey and yellow colors.

Petalware by W.S. George has officially gone to the top of my wishlist (and oh what a long wishlist it is!)  Until then, these pictures gathered from designsponge, flickr and google images will have to tide me over.

Vintage Monday: Frolic by Laurel China snack set

My love for snacks, retro china, and snack sets is well documented and I have acquired my first set!  It's a lovely print called Frolic by Laurel China, made in Japan.  I love the little retro print and the teapcups and plates are so dainty. (pictures by etsy seller, I can only wish my backyard looked like that!)

Wishlist Wednesday: Snack time!

There are not too many words that I react to with such delight as the words: snack time! I am never one to turn down a snack, big or small, and actually the running joke at work is that whenever anyone comes into my office I am always in the midst of eating something.

This post combines two of my great loves--snacks and kitchenware. Nothing sets the tone of a good snack more than arranging it on adorable plates. I love the following snack plate sets because they come complete with cups--perfect for tea and scones...and cookies...and cake...

Franciscan starburst snack plate set (holy grail--it sold on ebay for $$$!)
